Welcome

Welcome to the Office of Instruction and Institutional Research at Foothill College. Our goal with our web site is to offer relevant and timely information on the areas under our jurisdiction: Articulation, College Skills (Basic Skills Initiative), Curriculum, Institutional Research, Program Planning & Review, Professional Development, and Student Learning Outcomes and Assessment.

Planning

  • Educational Master & Strategic Planning Taskforce
    Revised the College's mission, vision, values, and purpose statements and identified 3 strategic college-wide initiatives to be addressed over the next 3 years. Currently building the 2020 Educational Master Plan.
  • Integrated Planning and Budgeting Process Task Force
    Convened to develop new planning and budgeting structures that lead to “sustainable quality improvement” in response to 2002 Standards of Accreditation as established by ACCJC. The overarching goal of the Task Force was to propose an integrated and cyclical planning and budgeting model that enables our college to more effectively use existing resources to drive our Strategic Plan and to support student learning. The charge was to begin using these new decision-making processes during the 2009-10 Academic Year.

Student Learning Outcomes & Assessment

  • Starting Point
    Student success is the primary measure of institutional effectiveness at Foothill College. The faculty, staff, and administrators measure success by how well students do in achieving their learning outcomes, and by their continued success at transfer universities, in the workplace, and as citizens. Stay tuned and follow the progress of identifying and assessing student learning outcomes.
